Crash Diptych was a commissioned by Art Pharmacy in 2020 for the new Melbourne offices of Deloitte.

Crash Diptych explores the idea of taking something discarded, damaged or even tragic, and turning it into something of surprising beauty. The artwork's outer surfaces are made from discarded and damaged car bonnets sourced from the wrecker yards of the outer northern industrial suburbs of Melbourne.

The panels are carefully contorted, and a silhouette is cut out that relates to the bumps and curves. The panels are then sandblasted and given an automotive paint spray to express the rippling surface, and back-lit LEDs create a glowing halo around the pieces.

Hand-made in our Melbourne studio.
